Nathan Brown serves as MountainSeed’s President. In that role, he focuses on developing leaders; creating healthy, high-performing teams; and integrating MountainSeed’s core functional areas.

As one of the first beneficiaries of MountainSeed’s mission, Nathan is committed to building a business that provides opportunity and helps people thrive using their God-given abilities.

Prior to MountainSeed, Nathan worked for a large, international firm where he advised national and regional banks, Fortune 500 companies, funds, advisors, sponsors and investors, and lead multi-disciplinary teams of professionals, in structuring and closing unique real-estate and financial transactions.

Don Smith has led high-performing product teams at rapidly growing companies for more than 15 years. His teams have focused on helping users at higher education institutions and faith-based organizations solve a myriad of problems in evolving markets. He has experience with consumer banking, payments, disbursements, payment plans, education technology, and community engagement and has led initiatives to migrate thousands of clients from legacy applications to next generation products.

Most recently, Don led the Faith product team at Vanco Payment Solutions, serving nearly 30,000 churches in the United States with payment and payment-adjacent solutions. Over his two-year tenure, his team shipped three new products to market which created materially higher volume per donation, a higher rate of recurring donations, and improved customer satisfaction. These products played a major role in supporting churches as they were forced to rethink their engagement model in the wake of COVID-19.

As MountainSeed’s VP of Operations, Jane oversees MountainSeed’s production environment and leads MountainSeed’s appraisal teams, including procurement, operations support, appraisal review staff (commercial and residential), and AMC Compliance. Jane brings over 30 years of appraisal experience to her role, including 3 years serving as the first female member of her state’s real estate appraisal board. Before joining MountainSeed, Jane led a government valuation department, where she managed valuations of 320,000 parcels that exceeded $65B and a staff of 60+ employees including 20+ appraisers. She had oversight of multiple departments within the jurisdiction including the valuation litigation division. Additionally, she has served on numerous appraisal panels, Realtor boards, and conducted seminars for the state’s revenue division. Jane lives in Montgomery, Alabama.

Laurensia has over 20 years of experience in information technology from start-ups to fortune 500 organizations. She has accumulated a wealth of global experiences and accomplishments including off- shore engineering (setup, creation, and management) in India and Mexico, technical infrastructures and product offerings based on Microsoft and open source solutions, and many successful new product launches. Prior to joining MountainSeed, she spent her career in issuer, acquirer/payments, finance and higher education based organizations.
Laurensia received her MS from Georgia State University. She resides in Atlanta with her husband and twins, and when she is not working, she can be found with her family on the soccer field, hiking trail, or at one of their many favorite restaurants.
